Prenatal Visits
- First Visit: A daytime/daylight visit. I will use this visit to conduct an initial interview with you and to familiarize myself with getting to your home. We will also begin writing your birth plan.
- Second Visit: A nighttime visit. I will use this visit to familiarize myself with finding your home in the dark and to finish your birth plan. We will also finalize arrangements such as when you will be expecting me to arrive and where items for laboring at home are located.
- Third Visit: A daytime visit. I will use this visit to finalize our plans together and to do a labor rehearsal. I will also rehearse the route to the hospital or birthing center from your home (necessary even in case of a homebirth)
Postpartum Visits
- Visit 1: I like to make this visit within a couple of days after the family has returned home. The purpose is to check breastfeeding progress and to determine what other services may be needed.
- Visit 2: I make this visit only if there were any problems at the first visit. Its purpose may also be to determine the mother is getting enough rest.
SupportI provide support for you and your partner throughout labor and birthing I usually stay 1-2 hours after the birth I will give physical, emotional, and informational support.
Unlimited Phone and Email SupportBeginning from the date of hire through 6 weeks postpartum, I am available 24 hours a day 7 days a week for questions and reassurance. Please do not hesitate to contact me!
Childbirth Class AttendanceIf your partner is unable to attend class with you, I will fill in (if available). Please note: extra fees will apply if this service is used.
Birth Plan PreparationI will assist you in writing a birth plan. We will use a variety of samples and explore the options you have available to develop a birth plan unique to you and your needs.
Birth Story(Upon request - no additional fee)
I will write the story of your birth from my perspective. No matter what kind of birth you have, many parents find this outside perspective beneficial.
Email to family and friendsAfter I return home from the birth, I can email a picture of the baby and your new family to any email addresses you provide.

Birth PhotographyI can photography you labor and birthing from beginning to end. There is a small fee for providing the photographs to you on CD (recommended) or I can upload them for you using a service such as Shutterfly or Photobucket.
